Salvia Patens Guanajuato

£0.00 incl tax

A bit of a mouth full - Guanajuato is a city in Mexico where this plant was first collected.

It is perhaps the largest and showiest of the Patens, having very large, bright, dark blue,  "parrot's beak" flowers.

It reaches about 4 feet and is best scrambling or given some support because the larger leaves and flowers could cause the woody stems to break in high winds. It dies back completely each year but given a little shelter (I keep mine in large pots and move to a cold greenhouse) they reshoot reliably from their thick swollen tuberous (dahlia like) roots.

A bit of a showstopper.
