Begonia Cucullata Arenosicola

£3.00 incl tax

Baby pink to white single flowers of traditional begonia simplicity on watery/fleshy stems & bright green round leaves which don't seem to be attractive to slugs & snails. Excellent for shade (not dry shade) and flower stems reaching to about 18 inches although main body of plant a lot lower.

How hardy is still debatable - some say yes and some say no (although it will self seed so shouldn't lose it anyway). Like all fleshy perennials they have died back at first hard frost but green growth at base (and underground) persists - in cold green house are perfectly fine here and the test pot in an exposed position outside is still live and quite healthy. So hardy? - milder areas/milder winters - Yes!
